The society aims to promote and improve the study and application of haematology via its network of professional members.
The role of haematology
Haematology deals with many aspects of those diseases which affect the blood such as anaemia, leukemia, lymphoma, and clotting or bleeding disorders. Haematologists also manage blood transfusion services.
Their work often involves clinical consulting – providing advice on the diagnosis and management of patients referred to them by doctors.
